Our Mission
Welcome To Kisasa Weavers
Formerly known as Masai Village Weavers - we are a family enterprise focused on the creation of opportunity!
Opportunity not only for customers who we supply with unparalleled craftsmanship - but opportunity for members of our society as a whole.
Situated just outside of Nairobi, our initiative finds itself surrounded by rich natural resources. These however, rarely benefit the community as a majority still languish in poverty.
We at Kisasa Weavers have taken it upon ourselves to uplift our community - while supplying customers with products of unrivalled quality!
Find Out HowOur Project
Any organisation claiming leadership is bound by social responsibility.
Kisasa Weavers is no different... We have answered the call and built life-changing systems that we believe have made a difference for many.
- We are a market for locally sourced raw-materials.
- We are a safe haven for marginalised individuals.
- We provide employment in the community.
- We provide specialized training in weaving.
Proudly Made In Kenya.
Our products are made in Kenya - enjoyed globally.
Our Products
Unequalled & Sustainable.
We give you quality - without compromising on the environment.
It is through careful consideration, that we opted to handmake and use organic raw-materials for our products.
- This frees us from reliance on electricity. The use of man-power over machinery significantly reduces our carbon-footprint
- Handmade produces unique items. Our artisans' hearts pour into their work - each finished article a signature of dedication and creativity.
- Organic means chemical free. We support environmental protection and an end to chemical waste.

Cotton
Why Cotton?
Kisasa Weavers is dedicated towards using raw-materials that are practical, sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Cotton ticks every box in our requirements as it is:
- durable
- breathable
- comfortable
- easy to clean
- non-allergenic
- a good insulator
It is perfect for every skin-type and age.
Sustainability?
Cotton also represents a select group of crops, which produce close to zero waste.
- The fibres can be spun into yarn used for material production.
- The seeds can either be used as livestock feed or be pressed into cotton seed oil.
- The stalks are either replanted as new cotton plants, or turned into compost.
Wool
Why Wool?
Just like cotton, wool is practical, sustainable and environmentally friendly.
The use of wool comes with many advantages. It is:
- elastic
- durable
- breathable
- comfortable
- non-allergenic
- non-flammable
- stain-resistant
- odour-resistant
- an active insulator (both heat & cold)
Versatile in every environmental and lifestyle setting.
Sustainability?
Wool grows naturally on animals like sheep and llamas.
Provided farmers use ethical methods in their husbandry - animals, consumers and the environment stand to benefit from wool production.
- Dung from the animals can be used as manure.
- Sheering keeps the animals light, pest-free and mobile - ensuring their healthy survival.
- Consumers get wool for clothes and/or accessories.
- Wool is bio-degradable and doesn't release toxic wastes into the environment.
- The animals often serve as a source of food - providing milk and meat for consumption. In fact, studies show that sheep's milk is better suited for digestion in the human gut, than cow's milk.
Because we care, Kisasa Weavers makes it a point to get our wool from ethical sources only!

We Bring Experience To The Table
Before rebranding to Kisasa Weavers, our enterprise was known as Masai Village Craft Weavers.
Our founder and matriarch Becky Nyaga, spent years learning and teaching - not only the art of weaving, but also the know-how surrounding the ethical and logistical part of our business.

We stand by her principles! Our work is guided by what we learnt from her!
